Derek Rader

Derek Rader is a two-time graduate from Tulsa University with degrees in Psychology and Business Administration, Finance.

He began with the Prudential’s group operation in their HMO division. By age 25 he was the number one sales representative for Prudential, having a client list including the State of Texas, IBM and Texas Instruments.

After leaving Prudential he began working for a small HMO in Lancaster, PA. As V.P. of Marketing he helped that group grow from 10,000 to 100,000 members in less than seven years. Clients included Armstrong, New Holland and Hershey foods. While in Lancaster he developed the first self-funded HMO using the cost sharing of capitated arrangements with stop loss insurance which allows companies to take full advantage of the benefits of cost savings from managed care.

For the last 20-plus years Derek has been operating as a broker advising companies on how best to manage their health plan costs in an ever more challenging environment.

With underwriter training with the Prudential and an extensive background in health cost management, he brings a unique set of skills to the table. This benefits the client by helping them understand the challenging environment of health care coverage as well as being able to negotiate a favorable contract with insurance companies, third party administrators and stop loss carriers.
